On 18 August CGE once again visited partner organisation JeCCDO in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. Amongst other collaborations, we are working with JeCCDO at their public library and resource centre, a facility that provides a supportive learning environment for between 500 and 600 individuals a day. We took micro:bitsfor the C++ coding academy and observed English conversation classes. We also visited the ICT4Development Centre at Bahir Dar University and the local community on the Zege Peninsula, where JeCCDO are implementing a range of projects. These include water and sanitation, livelihood programmes, and education in agriculture. Above is a photo of the new allotment created and used by JeCCDO as a community teaching platform for agriculture and nutrition.
